After blasting through the Bahamas and menacing the Southeastern US, Hurricane Floyd made landfall in Southeastern North Carolina on September 16, 1999 with sustained winds of 105 mph and torrential rainfall. I documented the storm's landfall at Wilmington, North Carolina and the ensuing flooding that inundated portions of Eastern North Carolina. At one point in the clip, a motorist attempts to cross a flooded street and comes very close to being swept away.
