What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong

Impressive. One of this video watcher a "live book" about Armstrong. His message: ------------------------------------- Hi David, Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm not on that video nor was I there. I'm a life-long Louis Armstrong nut so I know when he did everything. There are two books that I get my information about videos from, "All Of Me-The Complete Discography of Louis Armstrong" by Jos Willems & "Louis Armstrong On The Screen" by Dr. Klaus Stratemann. The Louis clip you posted is from the first of two BBC-TV shows. Each show was 45 minutes & they were taped on the same day, July 2, 1968. Aside from Louis the rest of the band is Tyree Glenn-trombone, Joe Muranyi-clarinet, Marty Napoleon-piano, Buddy Catlett-bass & Danny Barcelona-drums. Louis died three years later, on July 6, 1971. He was only on the road full time for another two months after this clip. By mid September of 1968 he was seriously ill in the hospital & was out of commisiion for most of 1969. I hope that's enough information for you. Best wishes, Phil ------------------------------ Phil, I am very been thankful by the information. Thank you so much.

Louie Armstrong sings "Super Mario World"

Download the mp3 for free here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4allji If Satchmo were alive, he would have owned a Wii. -------------------------- LYRICS: I see Mario Luigi too He's player one, He's player two And I think to myself Super Mario World I see towers so tall They make me afraid But those scary castles Aren't very well made And I think to myself Super Mario World The shells of flying turtles So pretty in the sky They're also kinda deadly Don't touch 'em or you'll die I hear Yoshi makin' noise like a chronic smoker's cough He's really sayin' "Please get off" When you win the game There's a Yoshi parade Mario and Luigi They's just tryin' to get laid And I think to myself Super Mario World Ooh, I think to myself Super Mario World Oooh... game over. -------------------------- For those of you who don't know, this song is a parody of "What a Wonderful World" by Louie (Louis) Armstrong, and can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtPF9M3nIHs This song is dedicated to my friend Matt Villanueva.

Louis Armstrong and Johnny Cash - Blue Yodel No. 9

I would have never guessed, but Louis Armstrong was a guest on the Johnny Cash Show. This and the story about Satchmo and Jimmie Rogers show how diverse musical tastes these men had and once again that music is a great connector. This is from episode 38, Oct., 28, 1970 and must be one of Satchmo's last performances. He was such a great performer right to the end and the Nashville audience and Johnny just loved him. Louis Armstrong cracks everybody up at the start of the song: Let's give it to 'em in black and white. THIS AND OTHER GREAT PERFORMANCES ARE NOW AVAILABLE ON A 2-DVD-SET "BEST OF THE JOHNNY CASH TV SHOW". HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!!!

Betty Boop/Louis Armstrong - You Rascal You (1932)

One of the classic Depression-era musical cartoons created by Max and Dave Fleischer. Satchmo's soundtrack obviously inspires the artists - even if the visuals aren't in any way "politically correct" 70-plus years later.

Craig Armstrong - Escape

I edited the song "Escape" by Craig Armstrong from the Plunkett and Macleane soundtrack to clips from The Marine, Deja Vu, and The Protector.
