35 minutes from downtown Vancouver our 2010 Olympic winter games host city, Crescent Beach is a small oasis. At 11:30 am on a cloudy November day, the peace and tranquile quiet has a soothing effect. Just a quiet walk along the Pacific, and to think the real media that has descended on Vancouver is being herded from Olympic venue to Olympic venue. There is more to Vancouver than the Olympics.

Three of my good friends and I spent four days at a friend's beach house about 9 miles south of St Augustine, Florida. Due to the choppy waves, we were only able to spend time at the beach one day out of the entire trip, but it was worth it.
