I was in agony because of my hammertoes. I had quite a bit of pain in my toes and I couldn't wear closed toed shoes at all. I had hammertoe surgery about a year ago and it was an overall pleasant experience. It was much better than I thought is was going to be. The sutures came out at about 2 weeks, and I only had swelling for a few months. Now after the surgery I can wear normal shoes w/ no pain, very much worth it and I would do it again.
