I just got a Sony HDR-SR12, went out with both my HD camcorders to see which would get the better result. I noticed the Sony picked up on finer detail, had a wider view with no lense, but the HV30 captured better image, and used natural light much better.

I've uploaded this short test due to the lack of videos showing the difference between using standard HV-30 or a HV-30 equipped with wide angle lens when shooting indoor. 99,9999% / all videos are tests of outdoor shooting. But at least me myself uses the camera 'bout 50% indoor / 50% outdoor. So just a bunch of outdoor tests won't tell how big the difference really are when using the wide angle lens indoor. WATCH IN HD! Hey guys. Went out today to do a little filming and this is what I came back with. This is the 2nd test from the lovely Canon HV30 camera :) This video was shot in 60i (HDV option in camera) This time I used a tripod! - OMG Filming took 30 mins, editing 15 mins and rendering took 1 hour and 37 mins.
