Now they've turned their lives around and are helping other children. It's estimated there are more than 120,000 homeless children in Nairobi. But where grand schemes have failed, local projects are having an impact. Henry works for AMARF, encouraging street children to go to school. "I tell them I used to live the life they're living now. Mar 2008 The violence that erupted after Kenya's election left over a thousand dead and hundreds of thousands more homeless. Much of it appeared pre-mediated. Can a peace accord now last? "The ODM dealers planned and executed ethnic cleansing", states government spokesman Alfred Mutua. "Those people are just as bad as Milosevic". Much of the footage was shot in a VW van while visiting the assorted resort areas in Eastern and Northern Kenya. I also recorded the African music while in Nairobi.
