Hundreds of thousands of migrant workers flock to India's biggest and richest city, Mumbai, every year. They come from all over the country to find stable work, but many remain on the street for years. Casey Kauffman followed one man seeking a living in the city, beginning with his two-day train ride to his first day looking for work.

In 2005 Humane Borders worked with John Hunter of Water Stations, Inc. (California) to propose placing cell phone towers in remote desert areas where distressed migrants could call for help. The proposal went through Duncan Hunter (R-CA), John's brother, to the Department of Homeland Security. Later when the virtual wall infrastructure began construction, another effort was made to propose placing 911 capability on SBInet towers.
