My friend Tina is a teacher in Austin. She asked her sixth grade students to send me questions they had about astronomy, and I answer them on question. There were so many I had to split this into *5* parts! This is Part 2, and these are the questions they asked me: 1) Why is gravity different on the Moon? 2) Why are planets round? 3) How deep do the gases on Jupiter go? 4) Are Uranus and Neptune solid ice? 5) Why is Uranus tipped over? 6) Can a moon have a moon? 7) Can you touch a comet and land on an asteroid? 8) Does Titan smell like poop? :-) [NOTE: I made an error in this one; Titan's atmosphere is mostly nitrogen, with about 1-2% methane. That's lot more than on Earth, but it's not "mostly methane" as I say in the video. Oops.] 9) Will my school get hit by a meteorite? 10) What would happen if you hit a golf ball on the Moon?

Directed by Lasse Gjertsen Copyrights: Casa Musicale Sonzogno, Milan, 2007 This is a music video for the italian cellist Giovanni Sollima, on two of his compositions; "Terra Aria" and "Concerto Rotondo". Enjoy! www.sonzogno.it So this is the project I've been working on for the last 5 months, and heres how part 1 of it is made: On the six arms parts, which by the way took most of the time to make, I filmed Sollima playing the different layers of cello after each other. I then edited the video frame by frame in Photoshop (remember, it's 25 frames per second of video), cutting his arms out from the other layers and pasting it on top, matching the movement of the cello. This was done ca 4000 times, by myself. The clouds were actually filmed in my backyard, sped up 1250 times. The birds we're filmed in my town, Larvik, Norway on clear blue sky, so that I could use blue screen keying to put them on top of the clouds. It's hard to notice, but the birds are moving in half speed slow motion. I also had to stabilize the motion of the birds, since I filmed it with handhelt camcorder. The sequence was cut together using After Effects and Premiere. The forest, river sequence was photographed in a forest in Arona, Italy. I took a picture ca. every five meters, and morphed the images together using WinMorph, matching the pace of the music. The zooming sequence is very hard to explain. Basically, the first 8 seconds after it starts zooming and when you see Mr Sollima's face is real photos. The rest inbetween are "painted" in Photoshop by me. The rest of this part is merely editing in Premiere and After Effects. Allright!

Each artist got from ten to twenty minutes for their show; no playback or soundcheck were allowed. Queen hesitated because playing without a soundcheck is always a risk. But then they accepted the rules and their 20 minutes of fame came on at 18:44 GMT. Queen were on top form and not only according to Bob Geldof and Elton John, they stole the show. They played only the intro to Bohemian Rhapsody (the opera part couldn't be played from the tape as playback was forbidden & there wasn't enough time anyway). Instead of the opera part, Radio Ga Ga followed. We Will Rock You was reduced to the first verse (and the final guitar solo) only.
