The male speaking voice rarely goes over that pitch and if it does it sounds strange and funny. This break can however disappear with lots of vocal training (eg scales and dynamic shifts) and it is absolutely necessary for singing high. Here´s something for you aspiring vocal range addicts! Harry Conklin does a high scale (similar to the C#6 scale I´ve posted before, it is also included here as clip #2) but this time he switches to falsetto high up in the 5th octave and then goes all the way to G#6!! Theoretically this transition could be made much smoother and it would all sound like one full voice. The song is "demonic plague" of the satan´s host "midnight wind" CD.
