A trip to the park for Anna can be tough. Choices to make, sensory information to process, fear of a clown and train... it's a lot to handle for a child with PDD-NOS. When left alone, Anna tends to drift into silent and isolated play. She does love to swing though and that was a highlight!

ABA therapy for autism WORKS!!! 6 year-old boy with pdd-nos learns to read, spell, and compute in mrs brophy's ABA kindergarten. Compare this video with one taken a year previous when he was just five years old, trying to put a magnetic train set together. We are delighted with the wonderful progress jack has made in the NJ public school system. (the bandage on his arm is from having blood drawn earlier that day, to measure anti seizure medication.)

Anna often gets stuck in her conversations, repeats herself, and asks questions that have already been answered. In this clip, Anna observes Cathy arriving to clean our house (see related video on Fear, Anxiety, and Perseveration). In the 10 minutes it takes Cathy to unload supplies and come into the house, Anna repeatedly talks about Cathy asking, "Who's that?" and "Where's Cathy?"

This is our beautiful little girl Victoria. She is 2 & 1/2 yrs. old. She was diagnosed with PDD.NOS in December of 08. Early Intervention has done wonders for her & our family since they started with her at 18 months. We challenge her everyday so that she can develop and learn as much as possible. Anna perseverates on her fear of the vacuum cleaner. Cathy comes twice a month to clean our house. In this clip, Anna sees Cathy arrive and unload her supplies which includes her vacuum cleaner. Cathy takes about 10 minutes to actually come in the house and during this time I attempt to play with Anna, but she is obsessing about being scared of the vacuum. I edited the footage to focus on this particular anxiety.

Silas was diagnosed with PDD-NOS which is on the Autism spectrum...we were outside enjoying the warm weather we have been having! looking forward to doing the autism walk in a few weeks!!!!
