This footage was added to the Live at Pompeii 2 years after it was released in theatres in 1972. This new release included footage supposedly of Dark Side of the Moon at Abbey Road Studios. The recordings turned out to be staged since the album was already recorded in 1973. Never the less the footage still gives you a raw glimpse of Pink Floyds amazing evolution. As part of UMBC's Humanitie Forun, Carol Mattusch, Department of Art History, George Mason University gave a talk on Pompeii at UMBC on October 29, 2008. Dr. Mattusch, a specialist in ancient bronze sculpture and the curator of several exhibits of Classical art, gives an illustrated lecture and discussion of the lives of the elite Romans who owned luxurious estates around Pompeii and the art that these Romans collected.
