This train is crossing the Missouri river from the north on the old ASB bridge. It is headed to the Kansas City train yard not far down the track. All filming for this video was filmed under the Heart of America bridge and the river walkway. The ASB and Heart of America bridges sit beside each other. This is my first chase of a train. After filming it in Downtown, I headed up Interstate 4 to Sanford. I stopped at the park just west of the Eastbound I-4 off ramp, a great boating/fishing location on the river. After watching an Amtrak head north, along came the subject of my favorite video yet. It was quite odd to see Santa Fe and BNSF on CSX rails, so enjoy the video. Also, a bonus after the train passes.

This was the highest that any current volunteer has ever seen the Des Plaines river. As I note in the video, that is probably a good twenty-five years or so. A few minutes after the video was shot, the river began to rise up over the road and into the prairie, and Hodgkins police came and kicked us out and closed off the road.

Driving up Orange Avenue north of Sand Lake Road on 1/6/08 approx 550pm I had heard chatter for 10 or 15 minutes about switching engines around.
