Two years ago, Curtis Karboski could have — and very possibly should have — won the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Collegiate Challenge championship presented by Carhartt, and he hasn't forgotten the experience. The Paul Smith's College student earned his second trip to the collegiate championship with a win at the Northeastern Conclave at Dartmouth College.

The lumberjack from Central Oregon Community College dropped to the ground in pain after finished his standing block chop in the third of four disciplines at the Western Conclave of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Collegiate Challenge presented by Carhart. Adam LaSalle, a senior at the University of Wisconsin — Stevens Point, put his newfound energy to use best, beating the entire field and capturing the day's crown at the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Collegiate Challenge at Michigan Tech's 57th annual Midwest conclave in late 2008.
