WCVB-TV 5 in Boston, Massachusetts reporting on 104.1 WBCN's upcoming format change on their 6:00 PM newscast, Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Since March 15, 1968, WBCN has carried various forms of rock. On Thursday, August 13, 2009, the format will move to sister station 98.5 HD-2 and online at www.wbcn.com. 98.5's current format will move to 104.1 to become WBMX "Mix 104.1", while 98.5 (HD-1) will become Boston's first all-sports FM station, "98.5 The Sports Hub".
