Golfing Through China

Currently, golf in China is left to the rich and the elite but like everything else in China – its growth and accessibility is growing at a rapid rate. With 200 golf courses already throughout the country, another 1,000 approximately are under or are set for construction.

Forbidden CityThe tour is fully escorted and mixes golf with cultural experiences and visits to China’s many ancient sights and history-making attractions. You’ll visit its busy and bright modernistic cities like Shanghai and Beijing. Other stunning and admirable sights including the Haungpu river, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China and the Summer Palace, the Donghuamen Night Market, the Terracotta Warriors and part of the Silk Road.

If that’s not enough – you’ll be faced with the best golf courses in China, including courses featured in China’s European Tour. One is the Huatang International Golf Club, dedicated to hosting major golf championships and events and one of the top ten courses in China. Another is Merryland International Golf Club, a 72 par course built to USPGA regulations, set within the Guilin mountains and waters and contains 7,073 yards of premium golfing distances. Near Shanghai, you’ll golf at the Shanghai Silport Golf and Country club, a world-class golf course with a distinct southern Chinese style featuring natural rivers and ponds throughout your journey.

Jade Dragon Snow MountainIf you take the Shangri La extension, you’ll golf at the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Golf Club – located at the base of the mountain peaks. This is the world’s highest (10,000 ft) and longest course, a par 72 measuring 8,450 yards and a par 5, 735-yard hole.
