The Boys are Back, the eagerly anticipated movie from South Australia-based director Scott (Shine) Hicks, starring Academy Award-nominated Clive Owen, has hit theatres.

Based on British political columnist Simon Carr’s acclaimed memoir and produced by Greg (Billy Elliot) Brenman, Miramax Films’ The Boys Are Back has already received acclaim in Canada and the USA. Shot in over 33 locations throughout South Australia, the film’s scenery is also receiving well-deserved attention.
Speaking about his experiences whilst filming in South Australia (www.southaustralia.com), Clive Owen said:
“It was amazing. When you see the film you’ll notice that the setting is stunningly beautiful and it was just as beautiful in real life. I passed all those locations on my way to the set every day. The weather, beaches and wildlife were all amazing. It was a really wonderful place to make the movie.
“There is also a place called Kangaroo Island just off the coast from where we were, which I was able to visit with my family when they came over. They really delivered on Kangaroo Island. As the name suggests, there are a lot of kangaroos on Kangaroo Island.”
