Free WIFI at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) has approved complimentary WIFIservice at Toronto Pearson International Airport, according to a Toronto Star report.

While WIFI access has been available for free around the world, including much of the United States and Canada, Toronto is one of the latest to offer this service despite its standing as the busiest airport in Canada.

“Our guests have told us that being able to stay connected while at the airport is important to them and that they expect this service to be complimentary,” said Pamela Griffith-Jones, chief marketing and commercial officer for the GTAA. “We are delighted that we were able to make this possible, while maintaining our focus on reducing costs and improving value for money for our airlines and passengers.”

GTAA spokesman Scott Armstrong told the Star in an email that they’ve received “good feedback from passengers so far.” He also said free WIFI was “one of the things that our passengers told us they expected through our research panel.

“Offering free WIFI services to Toronto Pearson’s guests is an important element in the GTAA’s commitment to serving the needs of its customers and helping to ensure an enjoyable travel experience,” the GTAA’s press release stated. “This free service is made possible through a marketing sponsorship agreement between the GTAA and Rogers Communications.”

This will come as great news for both leisure and corporate clients wanting to stay connected while on the road. Let’s see how the service holds up during the next busy travel season or unexpected weather delays. Surf away!
