The Latvian Museum of Art

Located in two buildings, museum houses rich collection of over 52,000 artwork of Latvia along with Russian art from late sixteenth century until 20th century. Museum aims at developing society’s interest in historic art, visual art, decorative art and design of Latvia along with this educating them about the significance of art.

Divided into several buildings, the museum displays the Latinas eminent specialized and cultural art. The main building of the museum is a home to Riga society art whereas on the other The Arsenals Exhibition Hall features various temporary and permanent exhibits of the museum. The other three building of the museum includes massive collection of Latvian decorative art and design, roman suta and Aleksandra and impressive collection of foreign art.

The museum has won many awards for its outstanding collection of art such as European museum of the year award in 2013, SPARNI 2013, etc along with this museum has also been a part of few international projects.

The Latvian Museum of Art consists of interesting collection of professional and cultural art from Latvia and few other countries that makes it one amongst the most visited tourist destination of Latvia.
