Testing the American Express Air Miles Platinum Credit Card has been a rewarding experience – literally. I’ve been racking up the AIR MILES reward miles just by using the card.
For those keeping score, I’ve used the card for just about anything you can think of – gas, groceries, gifts, you name it. I even used it to buy concert tickets and took advantage of Amex’s Front Of The Line feature. The concert was actually sold out but, since I’m an American Express Cardmember, I had exclusive access to a special block of tickets.
Another thing that’s really great is that I can use AIR MILES for a variety of travel, leisure, entertainment and useful merchandise. The obvious benefit of this is that I am being rewarded for purchases that I’m making anyway.
And that brings me to the points themselves: With the American Express AIR MILES Platinum Credit Card, you earn 1 reward mile for every $10 in card purchases at AIR MILES sponsors and now on other eligible everyday purchases at gas, grocery and drugstores. In addition to that, you earn 1 reward mile for every $15 in card purchases everywhere else.
With all the AIR MILES I’ve earned over the past month, I’m planning to redeem them for a Porter Airlines trip from Toronto to Windsor to visit my family. I’m not sure if there’s anything more rewarding than simply using the card for purchases I would make anyway and then being able to get a free flight to see family over the holidays.
