Discover Bourbon history on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail starts at the Kentucky Distillers’ Association’s Visitor Center downtown to see its exhibit.  If visitors don’t have the opportunity to venture away from downtown Louisville to visit the seven distilleries on the Trail, you can still experience the taste and mystique of bourbon at the seven designated bars that make up the Urban Bourbon Trail Passport. Each is well-stocked with at least 50 bourbons, some with as many as 150.

The stops on the Urban Bourbon Trail include; The Bar at BLU in the Louisville Marriott Downtown, Bourbons Bistro, The Brown Hotel Bar, Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar at the Galt House Hotel & Suites, Maker’s Mark Bourbon House & Lounge, The Old Seelbach Bar in the Seelbach Hilton and Proof on Main.

The Bourbon Country Passport program is a fun way to record stops along the Urban Bourbon Trail.  Visitors are rewarded with a special gift after visiting and collecting stamps from each of the seven participating locations. Each location is identified within the Passport with its address and a short description, along with space for notes and the Passport stamp. The booklet also includes instructions on how to use the Passport, pointers on how to taste bourbon like an expert and a guide to the distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. There are also maps of both the Urban Bourbon Trail and the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
