Europe is home to some of the best ski resorts in Europe. There are luxury ski resorts as well as budget resorts, with facilities such as luxurious spas, velvety slopes and stunning snowscapes. Many people flock to famous resorts such as Chamonix to ski, but there are some lesser known resorts as well. Check out some of these underrated ski resorts in Europe:

1. Myrkdalen, Norway

Myrkdalen is perfect for those who love adventure – you can cruise the Nærøy fjord on boat, take the train to go up the mountain, and then ski back down amidst spellbinding scenery. 

2. Samoens, France

It is a charming alpine village, which is at a distance of one hour from Geneva. It is linked to Les Carron. Flaine, Morillon and Sixt. 80% of the terrain is covered with snow. Samoens is a lovely resort, if you delight in the quaint chalets and picturesque slopes. 

3. Borovets, Bulgaria

This is one of the finest resorts for first timers, including children, as it has quality instructors for skiing. It is a beautiful woodland resort, with all the modern comforts and amenities. 

4. La Tania, France

La Tania is situated in Three Valleys, just like Courchevel and Meribel. It is at the lowest height, and though there are limited runs at the resort, you can ski to your heart’s content on the 600 km pistes of Three Valleys. The village has everything you would like to enjoy during your skiing holiday, including après ski. Accommodation is offered in the form of apartments as well as chalets.

5. Kleinwalsertal, Austria/Germany

Food lovers would love the gourmet food on offer, based on the area’s traditional cuisine. The rustic huts on the mountains, as well as the ski slopes are breathtakingly beautiful. The region is known for the large amount of snow, and has a multitude of backcountry pleasures. 

6. Champoluc, Italy

Champoluc is unspoilt and far from the madding crowd. There is quality skiing to be had here, and has linked lifts across three valleys. It has off-piste terrain, long runs, and you can ski in peace, unhindered by other skiers. 

7. Soldeu, Andorra

Soldeu, Grandvalira, Andorra

This is a good choice for those looking for a budget friendly resort, as it is tax free. It is a quiet resort favorable for people who want a relaxing, family holiday. There are no party goers here. If you want to combine your ski holiday with some sightseeing, then a visit to Barcelona can suit your purpose.

These underrated ski resorts are just as great as the most visited, famous resorts, with excellent ski terrain minus the crowd and noise!
