The world prepares for the excitement of the Cricket World Cup

The stage is all set for the much-anticipated sporting event by ICC, Cricket World Cup 2015 that is to unfold and entice the avid followers of the gentleman’s game. Hosted jointly by Australia and New Zealand, it is the 11th installment of the world cup, which would initiate on February 14, and last until March 29, 2015. Fourteen teams from all across the globe are converging to celebrate cricket at its best and play 49 matches in total for the coveted trophy and title. The excitement levels are escalating with every passing moment and the world waits with abated breath to witness the game unfold in all its glory.


India, the defending champion, would initiate its defense of the title with a crucial match against archrivals Pakistan, which is for many the match of the tournament. Those who adore cricket are converging down under to witness the game and cheer their teams with their presence. As far as tickets for the games are concerned, many credible online vendors  are coming to the rescue of the cricket enthusiasts. To facilitate the entry of the spectators in New Zealand, it was announced that fans would be able to visit the country with an Australian visa, due to a Trans-Tasman Visa Arrangement for 2015 Cricket World Cup.


Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, West Indies and Zimbabwe are the teams that will battle it out to emerge as champions for this edition of the tournament. The gentleman’s game is known for the uncertainties, but Australia, South Africa and India are widely billed as the top contenders of the trophy.


Australia gets to host 26 games at venues including Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, while New Zealand will host 23 matches in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Napier, Nelson and Wellington. The two finalists of the tournament will lock horns for the final slated to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
