Inema Art Center

Located in the city of Kagli, the Inema Art Center was founded in 2012 by brothers – Emmanuel Nkuranga and Innocent Nkurunziza who happens to be self-trained painters. Both painters began Inema to boost up the potential of art in Rwanda. They used creative expressions for economic, social, and personal growth.

Today, Inema Art Center, which is a collection of creative artists, serves as a platform for people of Rwanda to cultivate the creative expression. Inema Arts Center offers space an opportunity for ten artists at a time to discover their creative genius in contemporary African music, crafts, arts, and dance. The art works displayed in the center ranges from mixed media expressions to sculpture instillations of wood, metal and recycled cans, paintings, and everything that combines the everyday objects. To make an interesting and creative art style, everything from local cloth to spray paint is used. Themes for the arts vary widely from day-to-day scenes of living in Rwanda to abstract inner feelings come to life through paint.

Artists in the Inema Art Centre create paintings, sculptures, and mixed media expressions or anything they have interest in, which find place in Inema Arts Center gallery. The center is also all about initiatives, projects and organizes various programs to explore the potentials of creative genii in Rwanda.
