This just in – on Friday May 15th, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention lifted its recommendation to avoid all non-essential travel to Mexico due to the 2009-H1N1 influenza or “swine flu” outbreak that began almost one month ago.
Soon after, the U.S. State Department, the Canadian and British governments removed the Travel Alerts and Advisories that were in place for those intending to visit Mexico.
“Mexico is ready to welcome back all of its visitors and offer them the hospitality and services that have always distinguished us,” said Rodolfo Elizondo, Mexico’s Minister of Tourism.
So, what does that mean for travellers? Lots of great travel deals at amazing prices, in some cases up to 50% off already low-cost summer holiday rates to Mexico.
