Olympic Museum

Olympic Museum is located towards the south of the city of Lausanne in Switzerland at the edge of the Lake Geneva. Designed by Mexican architect Pedro Ramirez Vazquez, an International Olympic Committee member, and Jean-Pierre Cahen, the museum came into existence on 23 June 1993. After two years of massive renovation, the museum reopened on 23 December 1993.

Today, the Museum offers numerous exhibition areas on three levels emphasizing images and interactivity. It houses permanent and temporary exhibitions relating to sport and the Olympic movement. It has a collection of more than 10,000 pieces, which makes it the largest archive of Olympic Games in the world. It further has two rooms equipped with educational material. It is one of the major tourist sites of the city. Every year, it welcomes more than 250,000 visitors who come to see the attractive exhibition pieces of the museum.
