Pakin Atoll is a small atoll that is located at the northwest coast of Pohnpei, Micronesia. Near to this atoll lies the Ant toll that constitutes the Senyavin group of Islands. The total population of the Pakin is around 90-100 people. Sokehs is a non-government organization under the title of “Pakin Community Association”. The toll was first discovered by a Spanish vessel “San Jeronimo along with Isabel Barreto.
The settlements mainly rely on rainwater and well water for their survival. The main source of their income is through the selling of copra, which is a dry coconut, and fish to the mainland. The atoll has a low and limited land, which clearly affects the vegetation and cultivation of crop and is a threat to the settlement living on the atoll. The atoll has no ship channel but small boats can enter during high tide. Activities like scuba diving can be done on the outer reefs out of which some are known for their shark population.
