National Museum of Art and Tradition (NMAT) represents the culture and tradition of the country that makes it a must-see destination of Gabon. The museum is located in the heart of Libreville, Gabon and was a huge success when opened to public in November 2006.
Gabon is the first country in the world to have a practical online museum of art and traditions. Numerous researchers gathered the major portion of museum’s collection from the boundaries of Gabon between 1954 and 1975. With a sound recording of 900 hours and approximately 1,200 pieces of catalogs, the Musee des Arts et Traditions hosts many exhibitions on tribal art and culture. In addition to this, the museum has a great collection of masks.
Tourists form all across the world come to visit the place and discover a 3D interactive world. The museum is equipped with different art forms, which include masks, sculptures etc. and offers Educational workshops, tours and programs in assistance of experts.
