Argentina Whistle-Stop Tour

In March 2011, I flew out to Argentina for a 2 week whistle-stop tour of some of the countries most stunning scenary and entertaining wildlife, my holiday before the gruelling 3 month field trip to Northern Brazil. Whilst being one of the most amazing experiences of my life, this trip also proved to be extremely testing. For starters, it allowed me to discover what my upper limit of luggage is. Unfortunately, it was slightly less than the amount of luggage I had. With a full size backpack, suitcase, padded case full of field equipment and hand luggage, I only just made it to the check in desk. Although my bags were now checked in all the way to Buenos Aires, I had the rather daunting knowledge that I was going to have drag this luggage all over Argentina, including one over-night bus ride and four internal flights. The question “are you moving to Argentina?” was one I heard a little too frequently during the trip.
