Travel Gear: Burton Expedition Layers

I’m a bit of a cold-weather wimp. Mainly because I’ve lived most of my life in the sunshine state. Needless to say, I do not have the warmest winter wardrobe.

With that said, I knew I needed to arm myself with heavy-duty warm and cozies for my trip to the Canadian wilderness this past February. So, as I was packing my bags, I opted to bring along a pair of Burton Expedition Layers and put them to the test. And, boy am I glad I did.

Why? Because I had the chance to go dog sledding, snow-shoeing and sleigh-riding — all in 10-degree weather. No problem, however. With a thin base layer, my Burton first layer and my ski pants and jacket, I was feeling totally toasty.

The Burton Expedition Layers have heavyweight warmth with a quick-drying, fresh-smelling function. But, best of all, they are cute. They are far from old-fashioned, floppy long john’s. Instead, they are as curve-hugging as your comfiest pair of yoga pants and extremely flattering for the female figure.

Made of DRYRIDE Ultrawick™ 360G stretch microfleece, they are not only super, duper soft, but they have this force field that propels sweat and moisture away from your skin while keeping you warm.

In other words, they are a must-have in my suitcase for cold-weather expeditions. I will be packing them from now on.
