Woo-hoo! From the writers, producers, cast members/voices of the popular Simpsons television animated series and Universal Studios – Simpsons fans across the world have been given the best thing since the Simpsons movie and video game – the Simpsons Ride.
The ride opened May 19th, 2008 and was built at two locations: Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California.
Simpsons Ride & Krustyland Created by Matt Groening & Simpsons Team
Meet up with Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, Maggie and other Simpsons characters in the simulator ride-experience that brings you through its “theme park” built by Krusty the Clown: Krustyland.
The Simpsons ride which will be replacing the Back to the Future ride, was created and shaped by Matt Groening, James Brooks, Al Jean and the show’s writers. The opening of the ride also takes place in the 20th year anniversary of the Simpsons brand.
Doh!
Fans and riders will be seated in a cars located in front of a giant screen, 4 times the quality of regular HD tv. The simulating moving car takes you on a ride through the 2D cartoon world of Krustyland and parts of Springfield. You’ll meet Apu, Patty and Selma, Groundskeper Willie and visit carnival booths. Also, beware of Sideshow Bob who’s escaped from prison and is on the loose trying to take control of the park and get his revenge on Krusty and the Simpsons family. You’ll go up and down and left and right, dip and curve – but keep your eyes open so you don’t miss out on all the Simpsons references hidden throughout the ride/show!
Don’t Forget to Visit the Kwik-E-Mart
On your way out, don’t forget to visit the Kwik-E-Mart where you can pick up Simpsons paraphernalia and themed items.
What’s a visit to Krustyland and the Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Orlando or Universal Studios Hollywood without taking a picture with Homer and Marge?
