National Museum of Costa Rica

Built as military headquarter in 1917, national museum of Zimbabwe was formed as an institution of hosting education and culture in 1950. With the aim of promoting and presenting significant history of Costa Rica along with pre Columbian and colonial period art, museum underwent many historical phases.

Beautifully designed with notable architecture, buildings of the museum are worth seeing. Divided into four buildings, Museum houses collection of objects and sculptures related to ancient history if Costa Rica, pre Columbian exhibits that include stone tables, ceramics, a gold room and the colonial period collection comprises of cannons, remarkable furniture collection of 18th century.

Focus of the museum is to providing eminent knowledge and enhancing systematic study of imperative natural and cultural heritage of Costa Rica. You can see collection of artifacts representing geology, archeology and modern history of Costa Rica. National Museum of Costa Rica also promotes significant research work related to fields of anthropology and natural history.
