The architecture uses beautiful yellow bricks and roofs made of tiles. Lush green lawns surround the Amphitheater and University Park. In 1717, bookcases made of Brazilian wood were installed there. In 1728, Joao Ludovice built the beautiful Baroque style tower of the university. Another feature that makes this building unique is its concern toward green environment. Each year university sanctions six figure budgets for its green movement student programs. Some of the programs are edible campus and transforming the concrete plaza in a 1000 square foot garden meant for students as well as Montreal residents.
