Porter Offering Toronto to New York Flights

For many living in downtown Toronto, Porter Airlines located at Toronto City Centre airport is a great alternative to the oversized and overwhelming Pearson Airport in the city’s westend. Porter offers convenient and quick flights to and from Ottawa, Halifax, Tremblant, and now Newark.

Fly to New York & New Jersey

Toronto City Centre Airport Beginning February 2nd 2008, Porter will begin selling tickets for flights beginning March 31st 2008 going from Toronto City Centre Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport. Seven daily roundtrips between the two airports will be available, with two Saturday roundtrips and three Sunday roundtrips on the weekend. The fares will start at $120 one-way, plus taxes & fees.

Within the next 12 months, Porter also hopes to offer service to Boston, Chicago, Washington, and Philadelphia. Their goal is to become North America‘s biggest short-haul airline.

High frequency service, convenience, a simple fare structure, and outstanding service is what Porter Airlines hopes to emphasize in their business. Don Carty, chairman of Porter Airlines notes, “We recognized a need for time-sensitive urban travellers to move quickly and comfortably between the New York City metro area and downtown Toronto and are now acting to fulfill that need.”

To get to the Toronto City Centre Airport, shuttles are available for Union Station which is at the heart of Toronto’s financial and entertainment district, as well as TTC and GO Train terminals. Newark airport is located in New Jersey and is 15 miles south west of New York City, an approximately $40 cab ride to Manhattan.
